Impressive City maintain perfect start under Pep

MANCHESTER CITY were cut to 5-6 to win the Premier League after making it five wins out of five with a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth.

Kevin De Bruyne, Kelechi Iheanacho, Raheem Sterling, and Ilkay Gundogan scored the goals that saw them move five points clear after the 3pm kick-offs were finished, although Everton’s 3-1 home win over Middlesbrough later moved them into second place, two points behind.

City’s closest rivals in the top-flight betting are Liverpool, who temporarily became second favourites with an impressive 2-1 victory at Chelsea on Friday night.

The Reds are 8-1, the same price as Manchester United who could move into third with a victory over Watford.

Arsenal are 12-1 after a 4-1 win at Hull including two goals from Alexis Sanchez, while champions Leicester won 3-0 at home to Burnley.

West Ham’s 4-2 defeat at West Brom brought changes in the first manager to leave market as Hammers chief Slaven Bilic was cut to 7-1 third favourite and Baggies boss Tony Pulis, who had been odds-on, was eased to 13-8.

Punters who backed the short-priced favourites in the top flight were in good shape as City, Arsenal, Leicester and Everton all won, but anyone who included  Sky Bet Championship favourites Newcastle in their accas came a cropper when the Magpies were beaten 2-0 at home by 11-2 shots Wolves.

Hudderfield beat QPR to stay top of that section and there was another high-profile flop in Scotland as 1-2 Rangers were held to a goalless draw at home by Ross County.

There was more good news for leaders Celtic as second-placed Hearts lost, going down 1-0 at St Johnstone.
