League leaders cap a costly day for bookies

PREMIER LEAGUE leaders Chelsea kept the chasing pack at bay with a 3-1 win at Bournemouth and the Blues’ victory sealed a profitable day for punters in the top flight.

Home bankers Tottenham kicked off the weekend with a 4-0 win over Watford  before 2-9 shots Manchester City eased past Hull 3-1. Spurs are 10-1 to pip 1-14 Chelsea to the title while the Citizens are 125-1.
There were more winning favourites in the shape of Liverpool, 2-1 victors at Stoke, Southampton – 1-0 winners at
West Brom – and West Ham, who won their crunch clash with Swansea thanks to a goal from Cheikhou Kouyate.
The only fixture that failed to produce a winner was Middlesbrough’s home game against Burnley but the goalless draw wasn’t a major shock – no goalscorer had been as short as 5-1 before kick-off.
Boro are just 1-14 to be playing in the Sky Bet Championship next season with Sunderland, who face Manchester United today, 1-80 for relegation.
Swansea are 11-10 for the drop with Hull 11-8 and Crystal Palace, who host Arsenal on Monday, 6-1.
Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday leaves Brighton two points clear at the top of the Championship.
