New Palace boss 13-2 for top-ten finish
MALKY MACKAY is on the verge of being named as Crystal Palace’s new manager and he is 2-5 with bet365, Boylesports and Coral to keep the Eagles flying high in the Premier League.
The expected decision to appoint Mackay came as a surprise to those who followed Monday’s market moves on the next Palace manager when Tim Sherwood went as low as 1-10 after a sustained gamble led some layers to suspend betting.
Mackay, the original favourite to replace Tony Pulis, shot out to as large as 14-1 as Sherwood shortened but a strong move back towards the former Cardiff boss early Tuesday looked to be on the money with reports suggesting the 42-year-old has agreed a three-year deal.
Palace are 2-1 to go down, while the Eagles are 13-2 with bet365 to better Pulis’s 11th-place finish by ending the campaign in the top half and Hills go only 1-9 the the south London club down fail to match those heights by finishing 12th or lower.
Should Mackay get the gig, Hills are 100-30 he has departed Selhurst Park before the final match of the season and Palace are 6-4 to start their potential new era with a home win over West Ham on Saturday.
