25-1 shots Wolves shock Man City at the Etihad

Liverpool are the new Premier League favourites after 25-1 shots Wolves claimed a shock 2-0 victory at Manchester City on Sunday.

Adama Traore's brace for Wanderers at the Etihad leaves the champions eight points behind Liverpool after just eight games of the 2019-20 campaign.

The Reds had looked set to drop their first points of the league season on Saturday until James Milner's 95th-minute penalty gave them a 2-1 home win over Leicester.

And Liverpool fans' delight at that late winner would have been matched by their joy at the surprise setback for Pep Guardiola's men, who had been just 1-7 to beat Wolves.

City had started the weekend as 5-6 favourites to retain their title with Liverpool 6-5 but Betfair now make Jurgen Klopp's Reds 8-11 and the Citizens 11-10.

Liverpool were 13-5 at the start of the season as bookmakers rated Pep's side solid 8-13 market leaders.

Expert verdict
Some Arsenal supporters are not happy with Unai Emery’s tactics but the Gunners are third in the Premier League after eight matches and can maintain their upward trajectory by beating Sheffield United. The visitors have lost only one match in all competitions this season and should continue to improve with Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney both fit again after injury. They haven’t always been brilliant but Arsenal tend to get the job done. Sheffield United held firm for 70 minutes against Liverpool and have proved hard to break down, but they have lost four of their last five home matches in all competitions.
