City slashed for EFL Cup hat-trick after kind draw

Manchester City have been slashed to 13-8 from 3-1 at the start of week to make it a hat-trick of EFL Cup successes after being paired with Southampton in the fourth round draw.

The shift in price is the result of four of the traditional 'top-six' Premier League clubs being drawn against one another with Liverpool set to host Arsenal and Manchester United travelling to Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds booked their place in the next round with a 2-0 win over MK Dons and are 5-1 second favourites to lift the trophy with bet365.

Chelsea put in the most emphatic performance of the third round, blowing away Grimsby Town 7-1 to earn Frank Lampard a first home win as Blues boss. They are next in the market at 7-1.

Top-six hopefuls Leicester City have been cut to 9-1 after being drawn away to last season's semi-finalists Burton Albion (500-1) with Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton all rated 12-1 for the first piece of silverware of the season.

The draw features no Sky Bet Championship sides but two clubs from League Two - Crawley Town and Colchester United - who were rewarded for their efforts with a tie against one another.

Elsewhere Everton play Watford, a Midlands derby awaits Aston Villa and Wolves while Oxford and Sunderland reconvene after meeting on the first day of the League One season.

Draw in full:
Everton v Watford
Aston Villa v Wolves
Manchester City v Southampton
Burton Albion v Leicester City
Crawley Town v Colchester United
Chelsea v Manchester United
Oxford United  v Sunderland
Liverpool v Arsenal
