Jan Siewert favourite for Huddersfield vacancy

Huddersfield appear to have turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund II head coach Jan Siewert in their efforts to secure a long-term replacement for David Wagner.

Siewert has shot to the top of the next Huddersfield manager betting and may be poised to follow the same path as Wagner, who made the switch from Borussia Dortmund's second team to the Terriers in November 2015.

The gamble on Siewert could mean that Mark Hudson's spell as caretaker-manager is short-lived.

Hudson had been as short as evens with Betfred to land the job on a permanent basis but has eased to 4-1.

Slavisa Jokanovic is a 9-1 chance and David Moyes is available at 10-1.

Carlisle have appointed Steven Pressley as their new manager on a  contract until the end of the season.

He replaces John Sheridan, who left to join Chesterfield earlier this month.

Expert verdict
Following their Champions League humdinger, Manchester City and Tottenham reconvene in the Premier League and the game is unlikely to be anywhere near as pulsating. With City not needing to press for early goals, they can play their usual free-flowing game and make it seven wins in nine matches against top-six opposition this season. Only one of those eight meetings so far have featured over 4.5 goals and punters should expect a narrow win for Pep Guardiola's side.
