Man City 11-10 for FA Cup after win at Newport

Manchester City were just 1-16 to win their FA Cup fifth-round tie at Newport County but the quadruple-chasing Citizens had to be patient in their 4-1 victory at Rodney Parade.

Backers of the City-City double result at 4-11 were denied by a dogged display from the hosts in a goalless first half but Leroy Sane made the breakthrough shortly after the interval.

Phil Foden added a second but Newport's Padraig Amond struck in the 88th minute to reward backers of both teams to score at 6-4 and Foden and Riyad Mahrez hit late goals for City. The correct score was a 12-1 chance and City are 11-10 to lift the cup.

Millwall are struggling in the Sky Bet Championship but they have a cup quarter-final to look forward to after a 1-0 win away to AFC Wimbledon. The Lions had been evens favourites to beat their League One hosts.

Derby's run came to an end with a 2-1 defeat at Premier League Brighton. Anthony Knockaert and Jurgen Locadia scored for the Seagulls with veteran Ashley Cole pulling one back for the Rams late on.

Norwich returned to the top of the Championship with a 4-0 victory at Bolton and the Canaries are 2-1 to win the division with Leeds, who were not in action on Saturday, 7-4 favourites.

Sheffield United are 4-1 for the title after their 4-0 rout of Reading and West Brom continued their charge thanks to a 2-0 win at Aston Villa. The Baggies are 8-1 to finish top of the table and 5-4 to win promotion this season.

Luton are 4-9 to win League One after their 2-1 win at Fleetwood although Barnsley, 5-2 for the title, kept up their challenge by beating Wycombe by the same scoreline.

Third-placed Portsmouth lost ground on the teams in the automatic-promotion positions, blowing a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 at Southend in the early kick-off.

Lincoln, 8-13 shots to beat Stevenage at home, conceded two late goals in their 2-2 draw but are 11-8 favourites for League Two.
